Stemming Effectiveness

Load the hole file first (Paradigm, ShotPlus, BlastLogic or any CSV with hole ID, diameter, stemming length, charge and delay). Scaled depth of burial is computed for every hole. Then load the video and pin a few collars, and each hole's collar behaviour is measured and combined with its design into a stemming-effectiveness index.

Video can measure when and how fast a collar breached. It can never measure stemming length or charge mass — those come from the file, and where the two disagree the tool reports the disagreement rather than resolving it.

The most valuable entries are disagreements — where the design says the collar was well confined but the video shows it ejected, or the reverse. One of the two records is wrong, and that is worth finding before the next shot.

The five bars break the effectiveness index into what drove it, so a low score can be traced to a cause rather than argued about.

Recommendation

Press Score stemming and the rollup is turned into the changes worth making on the next shot — stemming length, stemming material, or the holes whose charge sheet needs checking first.

Nothing is recommended that the hole file cannot support: where a field is missing, the module says so instead of assuming a value.

Load a hole file and this pane shows which of its columns became hole ID, diameter, stemming, charge, density and delay, which columns were ignored, and which fields fell back to the site defaults in the toolbar.

Check it before reading any result. A stemming column read as metres when the file was in feet makes every SDOB on the shot wrong in the same direction.
